A Hot Winnipeg Day Ends

FTLComm - Winnipeg - Thursday, June 27, 2002
The Prairies of western Canada are being treated to a hot period of weather as unusual as the cold spring that seemed to drag on for ever. Temperatures in the thirties have ravaged Saskatchewan and Manitoba residence but it seems warmer in Saskatchewan.

Last night as Wednesday was pretty much history we spotted this great sunset and placed ourselves at the end of one of the Airport runways to capture the sky. The picture above just didn't seem enough and so the 160º QuickTime Virtual Reality image was created at the bottom of the page. This image requires QuickTime which if you do not have it downloads free and installs easily on all computers.

The picture below was taken a little further West looking right down the active approach lights, though a Dash 8 had just arrived I can't make it out in this image.
