Friday's low cloud and precipitation made it perfect for this large gaggle to take the day off as they forage for their thanksgiving dinner in preparation for another day of travel. The Snow Geese live on the Canadian tundra during the summer where they raise their young. The Blue Geese are always seen with Snow Geese and most authorities believe that the Blue Geese are in fact just Snow Geese and their colouration is a phase in their life much as adolescent boteos hawks differ considerably in markings from their appearance as adults. These Geese are much smaller then the familiar Canadas that have made such a resurgence in the past two decades here on the prairies. | |
