Saskatchewan Good Sams club hold their annual mini-rally the weekend following Labour Day each year at Watrous’ Manitou Regional Park. We arrived the following week after the festival that had taken place on the Labour Day weekend.

The agenda and schedule for the event is shown on the right but the remains of the extraordinary celebration were on the site for the week we were there and here are some pictures to illustrate what chainsaw carving of maple trees can produce.

These life size art objects were on display and we and other visitors to the park had the opportunity to look them over. Each of these are large objects towering over my head.

During the festival the artists created countless pieces of all sizes and those were sold as part of the event. Large pieces like these are valued at several thousand dollars a piece.

Several members of our group had the opportunity to visit with one of the artists involved at his summer home. The pictures of that visit and some of the works in progress or completed are shown below.
