Moving On

History is made of little pieces of reality sewen together. Today not long after the sun rose a house that had left Mistatim arrived in Tisdale. This afternoon the prime minister of our country announced that he will retire in February of 2004. I doubt if there is any relationship between these two events and that is precisely the way things are, often they happen without direct relationship with each other yet once they have happened they remain connected in the fabric of time. Four homes were imported into Tisdale last year while this year this is the first. This location is ideal for many residents as it is located directly across the street from the Senior Citizens Golden Age Centre.

At 9:30 the house was parked on the street as workers prepared to slide the house onto its basement. In this picture you can see the hydraulic manifold that is used to regulate the lift to jacks positioned under the structure as the lateral sliding beams are eased into place. In the picture below we get another look at this process.

Just before noon the gradual and careful process is advancing and by 2:30 the house was sitting on the basement. No new houses are currently under construction but several lots have been cleared in preparation for possible development. As always we will keep you posted on these projects.
