FTLComm - Naicam - October 10, 1998
This image does not do justice to a whole quarter section of prairie burning with little piles of straw lighting up the night sky Thursday night about eight miles East of Naicam. The persistence of this material makes it imparative for farmers to get rid of it so that fall work can proceed. Fortunately most such fires burn relatively cleanly but at the same time it seems like an enormous waste of both material and potential energy.
