----Air Violence
FTLComm - Tisdale - October 11, 2000
If you clamped your hand over someone's nose and mouth that would be a dire act of violence yet the assault continues as smoke lays on the countryside like a deadly envelope to all who breath. Surface visibility in Tisdale this morning was a mere three miles as the wind was still and the stuff just flattened out everywhere.

The source at this point no longer matter as it would
seem that air quality is not
a priority of any level of
government. The municipal government has a permit to break the provincial landfill burning law. The provincial government is completely oblivious to agricultural burning that goes on spring and fall and the federal government pays little or no attention to environmental protection.

One would think that something as important as the air quality would be monitored and enforced to protect not just humans but all living things that sustain ourselves with the atmosphere. The picture at the top of the page shows the situation as we look South East towards the town from West of the hospital. The next picture shows the scene looking North East from the West side of town and the bottom picture shows a South West view from in front of the hospital.

I can not come up with an economic or sensible explanation for this pollution and strongly object to it being produced out of pure laziness. It would seem inappropriate to wait until there are fatalities from motor vehicle accidents, or the development of chronic respiratory ailments before action is taken to strictly bane this obviously improper, violent and antisocial behaviour.
