Did someone say ice cream?

You know the weather is much better when the ice cream booth opens at the south end of town. I dropped by Friday afternoon and unfortunately over exposed the picture of my "kahula chocolate" ice cream cone which over exposed me to sugar but it was worth it. Ah, sweet summer is clear approaching.

The ice cream shop has a host of flavours of hard ice cream and it has soft ice cream as well so it is good to see them in business to start a new season. By the way, that cone is a "small" hard ice cream cone and was $2.00.

This morning I noticed a sign a the Tempo station advertising their soft ice cream and had to give it a try. They have a neat machine (below right) that delivers 24 flavours of soft serve and for $1.50 I had a "small" cone of German Chocolate.

Now this brings to a total four places in Tisdale with soft serve ice cream. Chicken Delight has some no sugar ice cream as well as their soft ice cream and you can travel to the north end of main street and have a cone at Wicks. For my taste I prefer a light and fluffy soft ice cream, the way "Gary used to make it" at Hannigans but alas I have to settle for what is available. The cone at Tempo this morning was pretty darn good but if you like a really rich sugary mixture go up to Wicks. I will have to wait for another day the shop at the car wash was still chilling down when I was there Friday afternoon.
