At the beginnning of March Shawn Ratushniak took over managing the Park Motel. Having owned and successfully operated his own business for the past nine years in Tisdale he said he was really looking forward tot he challenge of operating the largest motel in the community. Shawn said that the motel has steady business throughout the year and with this not being the tourist season it is still impressive to see the number of reservations that keep coming in on a daily basis. The Park motel has a regular staff who work full time year round maintaining and servicing the rooms in the motel. One of the projects that is going to occupy a good deal of Shawn's time in the coming month is the process of upgrading and re-fitting most of the rooms. With this motel providing accomodating for a steady flow of visitors it is important not only to make the facility a clean place to stay but the components of each room need to be replaced on a regular basis. Through the years this tourist and business stop-over has continued to grow as the demand for accommodation at the cross roads of highways # and #35 continue to be one of the busiest intersections in the province with a heavy flow of transport trucking and a never ending stream of tourists heading to the adventures of the northern part of the province.
