Be it gas, a coffee on the run, a snack, or some household food emergency the business that is open around the clock has what you need but more importantly it has a friendly and helpful staff.
I needed change one weekend morning and went in to get some loonies. The clerk had a closed til so off he went picked up a piece of penny candy fished out a couple of cents from his pocket and opened the til and got me my change. It would be remarkable if this was a one time thing but the fact is that the cheerful staff in this corner store will go out of their way to help out their customers.
