Be It Ever So Humbler
There's No Place Like One's Own Tree house

FTLComm - Tisdale - Monday, June 25, 2001

The allure of a tree house is amazing, every kid needs one, well at least wants one, and even as adults who never had a tree house there is nostalgia and longing. What is it about this obscure obsession with building a platform in a tree?

I have heard some who explain these sort of longings with references to primal prehistory needs for us to hearken back to the roots we do not remember, our ancient ancestors bouncing from tree to tree in their above ground mansions. A quaint thought but alas, the cycle repeats.

Every boy and just about as many girls would give anything to plan and scrape together the materials, build, see it collapse and rebuilt, our leaf covered castle.
