FTLComm - La Ronge - October 29, 2000
The course is called Communications Production Technology 10 and has been offered in La Ronge's Churchill school for its second year. The idea revolves around the need for students today to become involved in television, multimedia and conventional communication experiences using present day Information Technology equipment and techniques.

Friday the first video of the year was shown as the group shown here on the right presented their first cut of an eight minute music video that that they performed in and produced used video cameras and computer video editing. After showing off their work they set to work immediately cutting their video down to a minute and thirty seconds so that it can be put on line for you and others to see.

The group at the top of the page have their production in
its final post production stage as they have nearly edited their footage that involves a video adventure short with James Bond antics, fight scenes and a shoot out. We expect to see their project on Tuesday of this coming week.

The fitting nature of this course is demonstrated almost every class as we see these grade ten people learning the techniques of film and video and discover the painstaking effort it takes to get all the elements together to create a believable illusion.

But not everything is show business. The two young women on the right are busily constructing web pages of the class and its activities as they master handling digital images and the positive means of creating view able information on line.

Other groups are busy creating a school newsletter, learning to do the business of television news reporting and one student is deep in the world of animation, frame by frame.

As time goes on we will keep you posted and show you some of the work these people are creating.
