Though the run off was modest this spring and the fields ready for seeding early the cool temperatures have definitely been a big factor. This past Sunday we experienced a gentle but significant rain and by mid Monday the lawns were already changing colour. Now only four days later with the temperature all the way up to 20º this afternoon things in the fields around Tisdale are turning green.

As I drove south to see how things were I noticed at least one field had the distinctive pattern of spray equipment and in another field there was the distinct growth pattern of weeds but in many others this year's crop has broken through.
