I am confused Friday morning. President George Bush gave a press conference Thursday night and he didn't say anything new, no new learning for him and no new learning for ourselves. In fact, president Bush's earlier rehearsal for this press conference was not enough to prepare himself as he had to read from a script to answer the questions from his chosen correspondents. | ||||||

What impressed me most about this press conference is that war against Iraq is becoming nearer and that our lives may depend on a president who after failing his domestic responsibilities is now gambling on an easy Pyrrhic victory to resurrect his fate. | ||||||

"you bet. It's time for people to show their cards, to let the world know where they stand when it comes to Saddam... We've been working with the United Nations. We've been working through the United Nations... when it comes to our security, we really don't need anybody's permission." |
