Bush&Co's world of fiction:
permanent wars to save the American (petro) dollar?

Nipawin - Tuesday - March 25, 2003 - by: Mario deSantis

"We live in a time where we have a [Bush] man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. Whether it's the fictition of duct tape or fictition of orange alerts we are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you. And any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up. Thank you very much."

Michael Moore, accepting speech, Oscar 2003

"For 135 years, Canada has made common cause with Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States in the defence of liberty and freedom around the world."

Former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney, interview with Global TV, March 23, 2003

fiction

It was sometime ago that Timothy Shire, Editor of Ensign, wrote a perspective article contending that our "Real world, is completely and totally personal." Whenever we realize that our realities arise within our relationships in living together then there is really no reality without fiction. Therefore, we could have the choice to live in the world of fiction and war as commanded by Bush&Co. or we could have the choice to live in the world of reality and peace as chosen by common people.

One example of the world of fiction and reality is the recent show "shock and awe" produced by Bush&Co. in Iraq. The fiction is the watching on our TV screens the fireworks caused by the precision bombing of Baghdad, and the reality is the realization by the Iraqi people of the destruction of their homes. The morale of this explanation of reality is that our real world has been hijacked by the neo-conservatives headed by Bush&Co. and that total fiction is now shaping the reality of our New World Order. It is incredible, Bush&Co.'s fiction is becoming our reality.

$

There was no need for this war in Iraq! This war in Iraq is the fiction of Bush&Co.'s world against the reality of a world of peace. Bush&Co want to maintain the hegemonic power of the United States in the world of an economic fiction dominated by the American dollar, and supported by the American forces.

crusade

I was disgusted when I hear so many Canadians wanting the American dollar, and I am equally disgusted, today, when I hear pompous former PM Brian Mulroney telling Canadians to join the crusade of the Coalition of the Willing against Iraq.

Euro

We have already labeled the United States as a beggar and a predator, as it experiences a chronic trade deficit and as it wages wars. As a consequence, this war in Iraq is more a fictional‚ war to save the American (petro) dollar rather than a real‚ war to liberate the Iraqi people.
