Transport minister Collennette

Righteous Walter Robinson re-proposes again "less taxes":
Dreaming of private White Knights embedded with Air Canada

Nipawin - Wednesday - April 2, 2003 - by: Mario deSantis

As I read the article "Minister Collenette visits Stupid Investments R Us" by Walter Robinson, Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, I have again a feeling of helpness as this righteous man has all the right answers in two words: less taxes.
I find that it is not worth debating his contentions against a federal bailout point by point, firstly because I am a bit ignorant about the economic position of Air Canada and the eventual governmental assistance, and secondly because our economic system is mostly on autopilot driven by the greedy mentality of the embedded businesses and politicians.

I am laughing as I think about the term "embed." This term has been used recently and incessantly by the conventional media to describe the position of all the American journalists who are covering the Iraqi war while they are patriotically in bed with their crusade: The Coalition of the Willing.

Anyhow, going back to the economic position of Air Canada, let me say that the airline industry is in deep trouble all over the world and that there is hardly a private White Knight, as suggested by Mr. Robinson, which could assist the economic position of Air Canada in the absence of any form of governmental protection.
