Premier presents cheque to Legacy Project

FTLComm - Tisdale - Monday, June 12, 2006

When Tisdale originally began planning its Centennial project there was hope that some money would be available from the province centennial celebration money to assist with the project. But as it turned out the project did not gain governmental approval and what money that came to the community for the centennial went to the RECPlex arena.

It was a pleasant surprise when the provincial government decided to help Tisdale out with the project and this afternoon the Premier was pleased to present a cheque for $40,000 to go toward the project. This is excellent timing as the next phase of the project is due to get underway shortly. The first year saw the centennial square and the block on which resides and the post office upgraded then last year the clock was installed and the next block north.

This year the project moves north another block from the Royal Bank to LaCroix Drugs and Lambs Hardware to Elements. Here is a video clip of the presentataion ceremony with some of Mayor Rolly Zimmer's speech, most of Premier Calvert's speech and the acceptance of the contribution by Mr. Boxall. In order to view this video you should be on high speed Internet and you must have the latest version of QuickTime installed in your computer.
