Three times down, still leaking

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, May 8, 2003

As the temperature rose the ice descended and with shifts in pressure the aging cast iron line broke and had to be repaired. That was almost a month ago but since then water has been coming up in the back alley to the North. A second repair job was done but still the water is rising in the alley.

High tech water leak detection equipment from Melfort was brought over to find

the leak and that sent the Town crew digging in the same spot this morning at 8:00 when the top two pictures were taken.

But by early afternoon with about 100ft of case line exposed it looks like the problem is else where. This is really not a loss as this whole street was slated for replacement this summer and now this section has been done but the search will begin again tomorrow for that

elusive source of water coming up out of the ground.

With Tisdale's clay base it is usual that water will rise directly from where it is getting out of a line but this looks like an exception to that rule as the source is still unknown.
