Town increases size of lagoon

FTLComm -Tisdale - Wednesday, November 6, 2002

Begun early this year the process of making the lagoon larger has been on the back burner as other projects jammed into the work time.

The huge North section of the lagoon they are presently working in was created and now the work is proceeding as the dividing barrier is removed to create the larger containment section can be used.

The North dike of the old lagoon is now almost entirely removed and the fill is moved over to increase the height of the East dike of the East lagoon.

By increasing the size of the main lagoon dramatically reduces odour as the volume of water is more than doubled allowing bacterial action within the lagoon to progress below the surface.
