New speed bump to be installed

FTLComm - Tisdale - Wednesday, Agusut 28, 2002
Work begins inside the dotted line tomorrow morning at 0500 when the Town crew will cut open highway #3 that serves as Tisdale's main street.

In order to cut in the water and sewer service for the new A&W outlet there is no way to get around blocking off the town's most busy thoroughfare and rerouting traffic as this huge excavation will cover the entire street.

The pavement cutting saw is mounted on the town grader and it will slice through the paved surface then the backhoe will dig down to the service lines. But before they get the street opened up the tricky part will take place as this excavation has to avoid chopping through a fibre optics SaskTel cable, other telephone cable and a buried SaskPower electrical line.

Once the service lines are installed the hole in the street will be back filled with gravel and packed then topped with a cold patch of pavement. The regular ashphalt paving crew will not be back to Tisdale until midway through next summer so until then this intersection should be a large speed bump.
