Regina - Tuesday, March 2, 2004 by: images Ken Jones | ||||||
This morning officials in charge of the excavation of Wascana announced
that the dig is right on schedule and will conclude on its target date fourteen days
from today. They did note that some of the work would not be completed but the make excavation will be done in time meeting the schedule that had been set when the project began. These images were taken over a week ago by Regina Photographer Ken Jones. These are not digital pictures but were shot with a telephoto 35mm film camera on Fuji film and printed to photo CD. |

This is a nine cubic metre bucket at work here loading a 45 cubic metre truck. Though they load a truck every two minutes the round trip for the truck from the digging site to dump the load is a full half hour. These pictures were taken from the Albert Street Bridge. The drop in temperatures this week is expected to speed things up as there was some concern that if it stayed warm they equipment would be bogged down in Regina's infamous clay that has the adhesive qualities of crazy glue. |
