Reform failed again

White Rock B.C. - Tuesday, July 6, 2004 - by: Brian Marlatt

The spectacular failure of the unite the Right campaign in last Monday's election gives Canadians hope.

Reform failed again to make its Ontario breakthrough. Splitting Canadians into East and West proved again to be the real reason for the Harper/Manning movement and it failed.

But the policies and principles of the unite the Right movement - and the sponsorship distraction - revived the threat of Quebec separatism by driving voters to the Bloc.

We wish the new government and all candidates well and thank them for the courage and passion they brought to their campaigns.

We also look forward to the revival of the Progressive Conservatives, the necessary condition for the revival of competitive, meaningful, national politics.
