Warm fuzzy words and taxes

Princeton, Ontario - Wednesday, October 30, 2002 - by: Rebecca Gingrich

Typical of this Liberal government -- first they will scrap the GST, now they will raise it to pay for health care for us poor, overtaxed Canadians. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the GST instituted to pay down the debt?

So now, with the debt still there, it is also going to improve health care? For such a hated tax to become the saviour of health care is really stretching the credulity of Canadians. Why would anyone who is not dead, or a Liberal MP, believe that more money handed to the Liberal government would be effectively spent for anything of benefit to Canadians?

A message to the Liberals: Budget wisely as we, the taxpayers, have to do.

Don't waste our money by funding your re-election chances. Central Canadians are waking up from the hypnotic sleep you have had us in. We want what we pay for, not warm and fuzzy words that are killing us.
