Winnipeg - Tuesday, September 17, 2002 - by: Brock Schultze

On September, 11 2001 something happened that surprised and scared most of the world. Four passenger planes were hijacked and three of those planes were flown into important buildings around the United States. Two planes went into the World Trade Center buildings killing 2801 human beings.

Another plane was flown into the Pentagon, the final plane was flown into the ground because the passengers rushed the hijackers which forced them to crash.

"Why did this happen?" I asked, "how could this be?"

For the first few days after the attack I was desperate for answers. I didn't know what to think, I was confused.

The media was giving out so much false information I didn't know what to believe and what not too. After a week or so, the name that was going around was Osama Bin Ladin.

When the United States of America started bombing Afghanistan I was downstairs with my friend when my mum called us upstairs for lunch we saw the news and the footage of the bombing raids.
Since September, 11 every time I go on a plane I am scared for at least a week before my trip. Now every time I hear a plane landing, I get butterflies in my stomach. Every time I turn on the news I fear hearing the words "another terrorist attack."
All terrorists want is our freedom but I don't plan on letting them take it.
