Deputy Prime Minister John Manley was right when he commented that we should take pride in branding "Canada as an advanced technological country" whenever we hit the world stage. |

Yes, sirree, Bob. When a high ranking Canadian poo-bah arrives in a foreign land they should be encased within the confines of the best Canadian aircraft $50-million can buy. I can just see the fancy-dans in those other lands, mouths agape, as our showcase of flying achievement taxis to a stop before them. I can just see the bands playing, the crowds chanting our nation's name, and then the door pops open and out steps Jean Chretien. |

Worse still, he speaks. Once again, Canada gives encouragement to the nation's of the world, not due simply to what we can accomplish, but that we are able to accomplish so much in spite of the handicap of our present government. Heck, if we can do it, then so might any nation. It makes you proud to be Canadian. |
