To the Bumper

With only a tenth of an inch of rainfall Sunday one would not have expected this to happen. This pickup truck was leaving a back alley across a recently excavated trench where cable had been installed to service the new Golden Age Centre. The driver was alarmed to feel his truck hit bottom and stopped as it settled to the bumper. With the ground so thoroughly dry even this small amount of rain seems to dive right through it and hence an instant mud hole. The town crew went to work on it this morning filled in some gravel and drove over it a few times to pack in the fill. Definitely a surprise to the driver Sunday morning.
