Santa Claus Day in Tisdale was today, Saturday, December 1 and the Tisdale Chamber of Commerce went all out in creating a mix of events distributed through the town. The first event of the day was the free pancake breakfast with a collection to go to the Ronald Macdonald House that began at 8:15 and lasted until 11:00.

I didn’t get there until 10:30 and my breakfast, as you can see was outstanding. So was the entertainment which ran non-stop all morning with serious music to light song and instrumental music provided by a host of students. You can run through the
programme by clicking here or on the button on the menu above left.

Santa was on hand and even at 10:30 there was a long line up of children waiting to get their face painted.

Though I only was on hand for thirty minutes of the music at the breakfast I was really impressed. Violin, vocals, flute, keyboard and ensemble performances from students in their teens to some very young performers. The students who performed come from Tisdale and surrounding area with some coming from Archerwill and Zenon Park. Rebecca Hankins-Vopni said that they would be presenting their spring concert in the RECPlex theatre on March 3, 2013 at 2:30. Besides the solo and group performances they will also have some musical theatre numbers, so that looks like a show to put on your calendar.

The ambient sound in the Civic Centre was little difficult but in the video below you can get some of the flavour of what was going on.
