Canada Day 2004

FTLComm - Tisdale - Tuesday, June 6, 2004
Though it seemed chilly when we set off for breakfast Thursday morning and we had put jackets on because of the edge on the wind on the bright July first morning once we got to the breakfast at the four way stop in downtown Tisdale the sun was pleasant and it was time to take off the jacket. It was about nine when we lined up for utterly fantastic pancakes and sausage. The sign said three pancakes, three sausage, $3.00. The pancake mix was donated by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and they were mixed up with a power drill and served onto your plate right from the grill and they were perfect.

What a way to start Canada Day, taking pictures of flowers as we walked to and from the breakfast!

It was not until nearly two that we went over to the Museum and parked in the full parking lot. There were activities for children and a clutch of people were visiting in the shade of the trees while others looked through the exhibits. I must admit that I spent most of the time visiting with people I had not seen lately and it is always great to check up on old friends and see how they are doing. One fellow told me how he was finding so much to do in his first year of retirement and another told me about his new hip replacement.

While I was there it was time for the highland dancers and they were performing to an appreciative audience on the grass in front of the museum. If you click on the picture it will load a thirty second clip of this lass as she dances for us.

Below are some of the pictures of the day. Just click on them to get the full size eight in pictures.
