Sky stories summer 2003
|
FTLComm - Saskatoon and Carrot River - July 16, 2003 |
Though an effort is made to find a certain balance in
the topcis that are dealt with on this web site it seems the sky triumphs a lot of
the time. As I am attempting to have some holiday this summer I have limited the
number of stories I have been doing myself and just trying to keep up with the material
that comes in from various contributors. But throughout the years we have returned
to the dominant theme of the sky above and this collection of pictures need to be
seen.
The first picture (top of this page) was taken Thursday afternoon from the site of
the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site above the Saskatchewan River. The sky was
filled with these fair weather cumulus clouds.
On Friday evening we came into the city from Pike Lake Provincial Park and the images
shown below are in sequence as the Friday evening sky told of the complex weather
system developing above us.
The next set of pictures were taken by Kevin McIntyre over at Carrot River as a serious
disturbance rolled over his house and he capture the scene in this sequence of images.
Kevin sent these images over to his friend Doug Freestone who replied with a picture
of his own that shows a storm on June 20th.
