Washington (dbTechno) - 28-year-old Robert Soloway pleaded guilty to electronic mail fraud, snail mail fraud, as well as not filing a tax return in 2005. Due to his work as one of the leading spammers in the world, he now faces 26-years in jail.

He was handed a 35-count indictment back in May 2007 charging him with fraud, wire fraud, as well as money laundering and aggravated identity theft.

He was accused of using a database of 157.8 million e-mail addresses to send out spam e-mail.

He apparently also used a botnet for spamming and was considered the eighth-largest spammer in the world.
In the year 2005, when he made reportedly $300,000 from spamming, he did not file a tax return either.

Since his arrest, Soloway has been in jail, and it appears that he will be in there for quite some time.

He is facing 26-years in prison, as well as a fine of $625,000. He will also have to forfeit any funds he made off of the spamming.
