Fourth and Santa Clara, two blocks from home. The new library
building under construction. The shell went up in two weeks, just one of the several
new projects underway in the area. On Cinco de Mayo we made the mistake of going
to the store. We turned left off Santa Clara onto fourth, into a traffic jam. Fourth
dumps onto the 280 freeway and it took twenty minutes to go two blocks. Now, my van
idles at twelve miles per hour, the diesel engine has good torque and holding the
brakes down that long KILLED my arm and shoulder. Even shifting from drive to nuetral
wasn't much help. |
