For most of the life of this website Mike Townsend has been a regular contributor. Filing stories and photo essays that have been informative and thought provoking but you will also have notice Mike has not been posting on Ensign now for some time and this is the reason.

His new book is out, one he has been working on steadily for the past three years or so and critics are impressed with this authentic look at the Afghan war from a Canadian perspective. On November 11, Chapters in Kamloops will be highlighting this book in their store, featuring this author who has put together a chilling and dynamic look at Canada’s efforts in that war.

As son of a military family Mike grew up in a series of Canadian Armed Forces bases with military personnel as family and friends so his novel has the feel of an insider and allows you a glimpse of the difficult lives of people who commit themselves to this life and the service of their country.

Though Mike is a disciplined author forging ahead on yet another project, he still takes time to comment upon the world around him in his
regularly posted blogs.

Mike’s book,
No Bridge Left Unburned is published by Friesen Press and distributed by Amazon and Barnes and Noble and is available in both hard and soft cover versions.

If you are in Kamloops come down to the Chapters store on November 11 where you can pick up your copy and get Mike to sign it for you.
