Singing with Sylvia
Tisdale - Thursday,August 16, 2012

002
Wrapping up her library tour of this part of Saskatchewan, singer, song writer, entertainer Sylvia Chave, performed in Tisdale's Memorial Park beginning at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, August 15.

Sylvia has her foundation with a degree in English, but during her life, besides being a wife and mother, she ran a daycare, was a librarian and worked as a teaching assistant. Nut it is and always has been her love of music that is the passion that she brings to a performance. It is all well and good to be a polished song writer, which Sylvia Chave definitely is, but her songs have the pinnace that is just plain infectious.

Since most of her work has been geared to children as an audience, her song all have actions that go with them and make them dead simple to memorize. Even without the actions, the lyrics and melodies are positive and stick in your head. Adults might bring their kids to see and participate in one of her performances, but their faces light up and they too can dive into the fun of one of her songs.

Now the thing is, good songs, good writing, clever actions all add up to a pretty good performance but this lady takes it much further. Sylvia Chave is a master performer. She controls her audience and involves them in the dynamic bubbling performance.

Perhaps you can tell that I really enjoyed myself. My wife and I brought our six and seven year old grand daughters to the performance and we were immediately immersed in the event. The smile on everyone's faces told me that I was not the only one caught up in something very special and I am certain that though the girls really had a great time, we enjoyed ourselves just as much.

Now here's the thing, enjoying yourself with this kind of entertainment that involves, words, actions and music is one of the best things you can do for your mental health, studies have shown that smiles, laughs and chuckles not only lift you at the moment, but there is a solid uplifting of your whole being that lasts for hours.

Sylvia Chave is therapeutic.
