----Montana In Our Sky
FTLComm - Tisdale - August 20, 2000
With thwenty-thousand fire fighters in a futile struggle against a monster fire Montana's forests are vapourising and filling Saskatchewan skies. The erry red glow at seven-thirty last night told the story of a violent fire storm hundreds miles away and a situation completely desparate that will only end when rain or snow bring a halt to the devastation.

But while the smoke fills the sky above us the dry air of this waining summer night allow the Saskatchewan harvest to move to full throttle. As you look down the street above the silouette on the horizon is that of a combine, one of two working its away across the fields to the West of town issuing a pall of harvest dust into the calm prairie air.
In the picture above we are looking out across the elementary school playground toward the combines in the distance and the hazy from the harvest is mixed with the hazy from the Montana fires.

Below the sun makes its last red wink at Tisdale as seen from a West facing room in the hospital as it slips behind a cloud and disappears over the horizon for another day.
