When I started producing Ensign in 1998, I was intent upon putting some Saskatchewan and local content on the web, that was my goal and for a full sixteen years I have been doing that. For the first seven years I tried to post each and every day, but that proved to be unworkable and still be part of a family. Now, I aim to post once a week, but that actually turns out to be two days a week. I put the main components of the page together on the first day, then put up the stories on the second. This past year, Ensign has posted fifty times.

During the years the readership has varied considerably. With a lot of politics and contributors across Canada two thousand visitors a day would see the site. Now, posting once a week and with much less content, particularly political content, we usually have about forty visitors a day. The thing is, they are loyal. I regularly hear from readers who let me know when there is something they like.

Right now we are on a little tour and the main challenge is getting good WIFI so we can post the site. AT&T proved to be so completely unreliable that it is not possible to post without WIFI. However, in Canada wireless telephone was solid and almost always faster than campground WIFI.

Today's post is coming from Bozeman, Montana. This is an outstanding community, but with shockingly impressive scenery, with mountains surrounding the place. The picture at the top of the page is a composite of four images looking across a high school playing field. The image at the bottom of the page was made by Judy Shire at 9:04 PM last evening.

Tomorrow we will head over to Miles City for a few days. The weather is now seasonal we have the windows open and the furnace only ran a bit last night. Gasoline in this part of Montana is $3.35 a US gallon, a far cry from the $1.40 or so a litre, in the B.C. interior.

The next hurdle is getting one more campsite before we get to Regina a week from tomorrow. The oil boom, though initially confined to western North Dakota, is now well into Montana with even
Sydney is completely out of campsites.

Alas we will be in Tisdale before supper on June 1.

If you would like to look around the
Sunrise Campground at Bozeman I have 360º panorama image of the place. Just put your mouse or cursor on the image and look around. The image is high enough in quality to zoom in for details:
