Children stealing from children

FTLComm - Tisdale - Tuesday, October 8, 2002

Yesterday just North of the Regional Health office I spotted the bike you see at the top of the page.

As with cars most bicycles that are stolen are only taken for a ride and left some where. In this case the bike has been dumped on the vacant property between Wicks and the trailer park.

I looked a little closer and discovered that it looks to be a place lots of things have been left including this partly striped bike.

Several bundles of undelivered newspapers and other things including some toys.

Tisdale is not known for theft of any kind unlike some other communities I have lived in. We were only in Watson Lake Yukon a few days before some one stole a bike from our yard and in Lafleche when we first moved there some one came in the yard and slashed the tires on my three year old son's bike. But Tisdale is not like those places that is why I live here.

So it was a little unsettling to discover these two abandoned bikes and the other stuff found there. The bikes and other stuff are hidden behind the pleasant grove of spruce trees seen below.
