FTLComm - Tisdale - August 3, 2000

Its a tough hot job but somebody has to do it and endure interuptions from passerbys and friends.

Mark Twain recognised the unique and special features of fence painting and that is why he put the story together. It is just human nature that makes each of us critics as we stop to see the work in progress, make a lame comment that we think is as close to funny as we can get and all the while the painters must cheerfully swack away.

The supervisor on this project has kept his coat

meticulously free of the working medium but was willing to have his picture taken. But refused to make any comment about the progress or when he figured that his workers could take a break.

Then along cames some friends who were given brushes to help out with the task. They actually had fled their own yard as it is time to "paint the house". But misery loves company and this friendly lot were pleased with their task and resigned to seeing it through when ever it would be finished.

Our last painter was a bit reluctant about his role as a fence painter but this work was suited to him, he didn't need to bend down.
