Harbingers of Spring! |
||||||
Vancourver, British Columbia - Monday, February 24, 2003 | ||||||
Over the past few weeks, I have enjoyed your photos and commentaries on Winter in Saskatchewan. As a former Tisdale resident, I recall that at this time of year, one begins to look for light at the end of the tunnel . . . harbingers of spring! The days grow longer, and you look at the calendar and start to count the days until Spring thaw. Well, if you look West, the signs are there! Today, Sunday, I toured the Vancouver waterfront and took some photos of activity there. |

The huge saskatchewan Wheat Pool terminal, (below) with Grouse Mountain in the background, looked impressive in the bright sunshine. People strolled on the sand at Jericho Beach, and one man indulged in flying a kite against a cityscape background. The most promising sign was buds on a willow bush on the shore of Burrard Inlet. I am forwarding these pictures to you so you can see . . . Spring can't be far away! |
