The head of main street in most Saskatchewan villages was always the railway station and it appears that this was the case in St. Brieux although the station has long since disappeared. The village had two main streets with the second headed by the Catholic church and its associated buildings including a convent and rectory. As we look toward the church in the picture above you can see a series of buildings on the left that make up the town hall and recreation complex.

The village is extremely active with plenty of traffic, a car dealership and a number of unique businesses that reflect the vibrant nature of the community.

But the roots are clear, the church was and is the anchor of the community and the elevator below is a symbol of the agricultural basis for the industry and fundamental nature of what this community was and is.
