FTLComm - Tisdale - August 23, 1999

The vast Fripp Fibre Form building, which only a few years ago was Tisdale's major manufacturer is being used to store Alfalfa pellets from Tisdale Dehydration.

Only four years ago the owner of Fripp Fibre Forms was running for the provincial election and shortly after his loss he died suddenly. His family did not want to carry on the business and sold the factory and its machinery to a Swift Current company who removed the equipment and reestablished the business back in Speedy Creek. Since then the building has been
sitting idle and is listed for
sale with Century 21 (Tisdale Agencies).

During last week and this trucks have been moving pellets from the Dehydration plant into the huge building. The picture on the right shows this process and the little dots in the picture are caused from particulation in the air as the camera's flash reflects off the huge amount of green dust floating around.

I was surprised at the remnants of the Fripp operation that remains intact in the building. The picture below shows the huge electrical panel that once controlled much of the factory's operations
