One of the on going themes of this web site over the years has been the continuous process of house construction in our little community. So, over those years I have got to know and appreciate the hardship and adventure of those who do the work and in many cases take the chance building houses that some one will want. Of the housing contractor's in Tisdale, Rise Construction has been one of the main companies and the man behind that company, Daryl Werth, died on the job on Thursday.
Daryl distinguished himself as a speedy builder, putting a building or a rennovation project together in the fastest possible time. Though we have done countless stories on houses Rise Construction has built, they also did the A&W and after the flooding last year, pitched in repairing damage in basement after basement. When water began seeping into our basement, it was Daryl I turned to and immediately the work was completed.
Daryl was a hard working individual with a big smile and a person who cheerfully got the job done in good or bad weather. He was feeling poorly a week ago Friday and after being checked over at hospital went to work Monday morning.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Daryl's wife and family and to all of his friends who are going to miss him, but they will all be able to look around and see his many achievements and know how we all were proud to be able to say we knew a great man.
Prayers will be at Baron's Funeral Chapel Sunday at 7:30 and the funeral at the RecPlex Monday at 2:00. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
