Lion's Park FunZone, first day

FTLComm - Tisdale - Tuesday, June 29, 2004

One of Tisdale Parks and Recreation projects, the FunZone got its 2004 summer programme underway yesterday as a crowd of young people registered to be part of the activities from now until the end of the second week in August.

The programme is designed for children aged five to ten and runs each weekday from ten in the morning until noon and from one in the afternoon until four.

It looks like the first day got off to a colourful start with painting the activity for the morning.

The centre piece of the Lion's Park is well on its way to completion as the old paddling pool was removed and work has begun to install the new spray park.

As you can see in these images the two organisers were well organised Monday morning with their materials all set up and ready to go and their positive attitudes to coach their young artists through a fun and creative summer.

The driving force behind a programme like this is the wild enthusiasm and industry of the participants. The boundless energy of childhood is the greatest resource of a society and a project like this one is the gasoline that will power this engine leading each child to new discoveries and experiences that they will reconfigure to their growing needs.
