Waiting To Fall FTLComm - Weekes - April 8, 2001 Canadians love to celebrate the coming of spring and many communities have bets on when the ices goes out on the river, ont he lake or what ever. In this case a forest workers around Weekes have a contest on when the ice in this borrow pit gives out and dumps the Ski-doo and its stuffed rider into the water below. We were a little to far away to get a clean picture of the setting but the rider is bending over peering down to see how the melting process is going. Mores, Aberdeen, Saskatoon and la Ronge all have similar projects each year some have old cars some just a clock on a post, this one with a Ski-doo is just a bit different but reflects the unique community in which it is located.
