Sunday the weather was perfect for the citizens of Tisdale to come out to the new town square to mark the hundredth anniversary of the community.

From Mike Tatarynovich's great pictures you can see that a large crowd arrived with thei lawn chairs to enjoy each other's company and listen to the band perform.

For Mrs. Messier, Mr. Homstol and Mayor Rollie Zimmer (right) this was a delicious moment as the town square is now a reality and the upgrading of the downtown well underway. They

They have been part of the hard working committee that worked out the design for the project and found suppliers to build the various elements that are quickly becoming an accepted part of downtown Tisdale.

But, Tisdale has always been changing as the place seems to be on a self controlled renewal project since its beginning. Mayor Zimmer was at the table Sunday handing out birthday cake to celebrate this historic commemoration of a full hundred years of progress and development.

In just the past ten years we have seen the enlargement and expansion of the RECPlex to

to include the new high school as each year at least ten new houses have been built many replacing older ones.

Below are four of Tisdale's newest residents who have come to town to work at Norther Steel Industries from their home in the Ukraine.
