Fifty Years for Wilf and Alvina Wisser

FTLComm - Tisdale - July 25, 1998
Today at 5:30 will be the time to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Wilf and Alvina Wisser's wedding. It was a historical year, only a week earlier Newfoundland became Canada's tenth province, Israel had become an independent country May, Mao Tse Tung's revolution in China had placed him in power and the world came to know it as Red China, it was the year of the Berlin airlift as Joseph Stalin in his last year of life blockaded the old capital of German, the Rosenburgs were charged with giving the secret of the A-bomb to Russia, MacKenzie King died, and the hit song of the year was Mockingbird Hill.

We all wish the both continued happiness as their family and friends gather around today for a banquet at 6:30 and a dance right after at the Civic Centre.
