Ten members of the Parkland Photography Club met in the Doghide Gallery in Tisdale on Tuesday, March 27. In the absence of President BJ Madsen, Vice-President Cindy Neilsen chaired the meeting.

Don Barbour reported that the framing of the prints had been completed and there are now seventeen framed photos ready to be displayed around the area. Stephanie Pipke-Painchaud will take five of these to be displayed in the library in Tisdale. Don Barbour will make a banner to accompany the display stating that they are from the Parkland Photography Club.

Neil Anderson has been in contact with the museum committee in regards to their request that the club take photos for a calendar that the committee hopes to have published next September. Neil will confirm with the committee the club's suggested dates for the photo shoots at the museum. The images will then be sent to the museum committee and they will make the final selections.

Members are requested to send suggestions for theme shoot ideas for next year to Gerry McLennan with the final selection to be completed at the May meeting of the club. Some discussion was held on the officer positions in the club for next year as plans are made for the coming year.

Last December the club members each sent some images to BJ Madsen for inclusion in a slide show to be shown at the Newcomers dinner at Christmas time. He put these images onto a CD and these were projected at the meeting so that members could see the images submitted by the other members.

The theme shoot for this month was "Light Contrast" and there were eight entries. First place was a tie between Neil Anderson for his silhouette photo and Don Barbour for his photo of a rabbit. Second place went to Lia Boxall for her photo of a tropical paradise and third place went to Daylene Wallington for her photo of an elevator.

Thanks to Gerry McLellan who supplied lunch for this meeting.

The next club meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 PM in the Doghide Gallery with David Bone doing a guest presentation. The theme shoot will be "Storm Clouds".
