Blossom time in the Queen City
Regina - Friday, June 1, 2012
images by: Ken Jones
These pictures were taken on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. It was a bit cloudy but lots of light to show off the magnificent blossoms in a Regina yard.
It is sort of one of those situations where we normally only confront tree blossoms as a whole simply because the flowers on a tree in spring form a general scene. But, each flower has a story to tell of its own and indeed, each blossom will become some form of fruit be it for birds or people. So in these pictures we look mostly at the individual blossoms and in one instance a busy bee going about his business on a flower.
There are seven images in the set of blossom pictures and then the second half of images is what Ken referred to as “pink snow.” The wind was shaking the petals from the large tree in a friend’s yard and showering the lawn and walks with the pink flower parts.
These pictures were taken with a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
