I’ve got a long-standing gripe about the sidewalks in front of our local post office in Tisdale.
I barely have a half dozen to a dozen customers a day walking in to my business establishment, yet I pay to keep the yard cleared for their convenience and safety.
Compare the traffic level in front of the post office, having hundreds of customers per day! Not only is there usually a ridge of hardpacked snow/ice on the street in front of the post office, the dangerously sloped sidewalk in front of the same, is constantly sporting a small glacier. This is a shameful state. Obviously no one in side there gives a damn about the people coming in, they’re just in there to pull down a wage.
“Not my job, not my job to keep the sidewalk clear,” they all say!
Lately we’re visually assaulted on television by a young lady slipping while carrying a vat of hot oil, and burning herself severely, and that we should all make safety our personal concern. This is my concern. How about you?
