Golden Age Centre Moves to Quiet Stage

FTLComm - Tisdale - September 4, 2001

On Friday the final bits were added to the exterior finish as this project has moved to the finishing stage. No longer are we seeing the dramatic rising of walls and erection of roof segments as the changes now are more subtle and time consuming.

The dry walling has been sputtering along with the main hall now all covered and since the picture was taken below the cracks have been taped and filled.

The South portion of the building is ready to be sealed in with gyproc as the vapour barrier and insulation is in place. The ceiling insulation will be blown in after the dry walling process is complete.

Today work proceeds with installing doors and completing the washrooms and centre portion of the building as the carpenter's work is almost complete.

Once the dry walling is done the actually finishing will be carried out with baseboards and window casings.

On Sunday the Golden Age Centre organisation held a fund raising bingo at the little hall just West of the Salvation Army church. If you would like to make a donation to this outstanding project contact me and I will arrange for contact with the treasurer or fund raiser.
