With the line exposed and cleaned up the recovered clean out mechanism was put back to work with a difference cutting head and run into the line (left). In only minutes it jammed its way down the line and was pulled out bringing with it a nasty bunch of roots. With success achieved the crew went for coffee and I went back to work. Shortly after the pipe was replaced with a new plastic replacement section and without ceremony buried. The whole job was completed by 10:30 and all but a truck load of material was dumped back into place. The only disturbed area was the boulevard The careful execution of the digging process had avoided damage to the street, sidewalk and lawn and once again the unwanted disappears down the drain. All in all I was impressed with the prompt and skilled handling of the problem. A credit to the experience of both the plumbing crew and the ability of the town workmen.
