Trojan win third in a row
6 - 3 over Prince Albert Mintos

FTLComm - Tisdale - Monday, January 24, 2005

Tisdale's "AAA" Trojans have been holding there own after a slow start in the new year and three straight loses the team has come back with three straight wins defeating the Argos, the Pats and last night the Mintos all with the same 6 - 3 score.

Now at fifth place in the league two wins ahead of Yorkton and three behind the fourth place Moose Jaw Warriors. The Contacts are way out in front with 29 wins followed by the Hounds and the Blazers.

On the right was the moment goal number five was scored.

The Trojans have during this season often demonstrated some awesome passing and puck handling skills. Their ability to control the puck in the neutral zone is sometimes the kind of thing that fans rave about. These wonders usually occur in the third period and we all wonder why it is that with such skill and control this team is not dominating the league, that's when reality sets in and you realise that these are all young men eighteen or less and though they can show amazing brilliance consistency is something that comes with age and experience.

On the right was a penalty shot Ryan Holfert successfully turned away half way through the third.

Prince Albert Mintos put up a good show but their defence was overwhelmed much of the game by the Trojan's determination and second effort plays as the Minto defence would stop the play only to have a Trojan scramble onward with the puck.

Veteran Robbie Beaudry is seen in this picture drilling his way out of the crease. Beaudry, who suffered a broken leg at the start of the pre-season has made a recovery that sees him playing better and better each week.

The scene below is fairly typical of Trojan neutral zone play with two forwards commanding the play, so much so that the defences takes time to make a switch.

Cory Buffin (25 right) was named Tisdale player of the game and picked up a nice prize from the Tuesday night game sponsor Mr. Ribs who put some free coupons in programmes and served up Pizza to the Trojans after the game.

The Trojans play Thursday night against Beardy's and will be back home Saturday night against the Battleford Stars then on Sunday at 2:00. Battleford is in second last place in the league having won only two of their eighteen away games while the Trojans have won ten of their seventeen home games.

The Saturday night game has a special attraction as the 50/50 draw will be $1,000.
